‘The Kelly File’ Tops ‘The O’Reilly Factor’ in Demo Viewers For the Week

megyn kelly kelly file 5“The Kelly File” was the top cable news show in the A25-54 demographic last week, topping perennial leader “The O’Reilly Factor” for only the second time ever. Megyn Kelly’s program averaged 413,000 viewers to Bill O’Reilly‘s 402,000 demo viewers for the week.

“The Kelly File” has beaten “The O’Reilly Factor” in the demo only once before, on a week when O’Reilly was on vacation (the week of May 5, 2014). This is the first time Kelly’s program has delivered a win when the two hosts were both in.

O’Reilly’s show was out front in total viewers, averaging 2,528,000 to Kelly’s 2,434,000 for the week. Both shows featured heavy coverage of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl‘s release from Taliban captivity in Afghanistan.
