ABC’s Nightline hosted a great town hall meeting, “Ready or Not: Lessons from the Storms,” in Houston on Friday night.
“Host Ted Koppel used the recent hurricanes as a springboard during Friday night’s broadcast to delve into the subject of whether the nation is able to respond to major emergencies, be they natural or man-made,” the AP says. “Audience members included Katrina evacuees, Houston-area residents who fled during Rita and local first responders.”
> “What in the hell are we going to do when this version of Nightline goes away?,” an e-mailer asks. “Does anyone really believe that this, some of the smartest television I’ve ever seen, will continue once Ted retires?”
