TCA: Amanpour To Host Six-Hour Doc “God’s Warriors” Next Month

With the creation of CNN: Special Investigations Unit last January, the CNN Presents brand is now used for “multi-hour event productions” like last year’s “In The Footsteps of bin Laden.”

“Four CNN Presents documentaries are on the schedule for 2007,” Multichannel News reported back in January. None have aired yet — but two were announced today at TCA Press Tour. Planet in Peril is one, and God’s Warriors is the other.

Hosted by Christiane Amanpour, God’s Warriors is a six-hour documentary “on the impact of religious fundamentalism as a powerful political force around the world,” the press release says.

It will “debut over three nights from Tuesday, Aug. 21, to Thursday, Aug. 23, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT) on CNN Worldwide’s U.S. and international networks.” Details…
