Sunday Ticker: Iger, Roberts, Velshi

  • Disney CEO Bob Iger landed at number six on Fortune‘s list of 2014’s “Business Person of the Year”, ahead of all other media executives: “While its media networks division (which includes ABC and ESPN) is still Disney’s biggest moneymaker, its smaller film business helped rake in a record $48.8 billion in total revenue in fiscal 2014, up 8% from the year before,” writes Fortune.

  • ABC’s Robin Roberts hosts a Thanksgiving Eve special called “Thank You America!” Produced by her production company, the special, ABC says “recognizes ordinary people doing extraordinary things.” In addition to celebrity cameos, there will be a special tribute to members of the military who are separated from their families and loved ones during the holidays.

  • Al Jazeera America’s Ali Velshi traveled across Eastern Europe and into the Arctic for a five-part series that begins Monday. In “The New Cold War,” Velshi examines increasing tension between Russia and the West, speaking with leaders across the continent, including Nobel Prize winner Lech Walesa. The series airs on “Real Money with Ali Velshi” beginning tomorrow at 7 p.m. ET.
