Update 10/13/14: the numbers have been updated following a Nielsen ratings data glitch. With restated data, “Face the Nation” was number one for Sept. 28
Previous story: “This Week” was the top Sunday program in viewers and the A25-54 demo this week in a reduced field due to “Meet the Press” being pre-empted for the Ryder Cup Golf Tournament. The ABC broadcast topped second place “Face the Nation” by +65,000 and by +70,000 demo viewers. ABC’s victory in viewers for the first telecast of the season was its first in 12 years.
Compared to the same week last year, “This Week” is up +24% in viewers and up +28% in the demo. “Face” was up +10% in viewers and flat in the demo. “Fox News Sunday” saw the most viewer growth, up +70% in viewers and up +21% in the demo. Univision’s “Al Punto” was down -9% in viewers and down -13% in the demo.
Cable rebroadcasts of “Fox News Sunday” averaged a combined 1,677,000 total viewers and 358,000 A25-54 viewers.
“Face the Nation” is based on the first half-hour only, as the full contiguous hour aired in just 67% of the country.
