NBC’s Meet the Press with Chuck Todd was the top-rated Sunday public affairs program in total viewers for the second-straight week on October 4. MTP has now beaten ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos in total viewers for 11 straight weeks.
However, ABC’s This Week won the key A25-54 demo for the sixth-straight Sunday. This Week’s 1.07 million viewers in the demo is the most-watched Sunday public affairs among A25-54 since CBS’ Face the Nation with John Dickerson‘s telecast back on April 26.
The ABC program picking up the extra viewers can probably be attributed to Face the Nation being pre-empted due to an NFL game in London. This Week is up +28 percent in viewers and +27 percent in the demo compared to the same week last year.
MTP delivered an additional 1.31 million total viewers and 520,000 A25-54 viewers with rebroadcasts on NBC and MSNBC. MTP is up +56 percent in the demo and +35 percent in the demo.
Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace combined with cable replays for 3.19 million viewers. Replays on FNC averaged a combined 1.97 million total viewers and 333,000 in the demo.
