The Peacock’s Sunday public affairs show ranked No. 1 across the board for the 5th consecutive Sunday, and posted +10 percent growth in total viewers and a solid +22 percent growth in the news demo versus the same Sunday in 2016. Not only did MTP rank No. 1, but it was the sole Sunday pub. affairs show to deliver year-over-year growth both in total audience and in the news demo. An addition 2.04 million viewers and 526,000 viewers from the demo watched MTP reruns on MSNBC.
CBS’ Face the Nation with John Dickerson ranked No. 2 in the aforementioned audience categories, but posted year-over-year declines in total viewers (-5 percent) and in the key A25-54 demo (-13 percent).
ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos came in third place, and posted a -10 percent drop in total viewers and a -20 percent drop in the news demo relative to the same Sunday in 2016. That said, the ABC Sunday public affairs show is +5 percent in total viewers versus the same point last season, and is drawing its largest overall audience in 18 years– since the 1998-99 season.
Fox News Sunday moderated by Chris Wallace posted growth in total viewers (+10 percent), but lost traction in the news demo versus last year (-8 percent). The trio of cable replays delivered 3.84 million total viewers and 853,000 demo viewers at 2 p.m., 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. ET. Altogether, FNS drew 5.7 million total viewers and 1.38 million demo viewers on Feb. 19.
The Feb. 19 episode of Al Punto hosted by Jorge Ramos delivered slightly more than 1 million total viewers. That’s a year-over-year total audience gain of +29 percent. Al Punto also posted year-over-year growth among Adults 18-34 (+5 percent), A18-49 (+23 percent) and A25-54 (+34 percent).
