Meet the Press with Chuck Todd won this past Sunday, both when it came to total audience and among the advertiser-friendly A25-54 demo.
The broadcast, which featured exclusives with Acting DHS Secretary Kevin McAleenan and Sen. Kamala Harris, topped ABC’s This Week by +6% and CBS’ Face the Nation by +10%. This marks the broadcast’s 54th straight win over ABC in total viewers.
The No. 1 Sunday show this season to-date, NBC’s MTP also won the week in the key A25-54 demo topping both ABC (+19%) CBS (+42%).
An additional 830,000 total viewers and 161,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through re-runs on NBC and MSNBC.
ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos had a good Sunday on the ratings front. It posted its largest margin of victory over Face the Nation in total viewers in more than one year (July 29, 2018), and was the sole English language Sunday politics program to post year-over-year viewer growth.
CBS’ Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan usually finishes the week ahead of ABC’s This Week as the second most-watched Sunday public affairs program, and No. 3 behind ABC in the key A25-54 demo. However, this past week’s broadcast finished behind ABC across all key categories.
Bill Hemmer filled in for Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday, Aug. 11. The first-run telecast on Fox delivered 1.07 million total viewers and 284,000 A25-54 viewers. The trio of cable replays delivered a combined 2.37 million total viewers and 460,000 A25-54 viewers. Altogether, that’s 3.44 million total and 747,000 A25-54.
Compared with the same Sunday in 2018, NBC was -21% in total viewers, ABC was +2%, CBS was -5%, and Fox was -6%. In the A25-54 demo, NBC was -19%, ABC was +5%, CBS was -9%, Fox was -13%.
That Aug. 12, 2018 edition of MTP featured an exclusive interview with Omarosa, who said “I have heard the tape” of President Trump saying the n-word.
