Steve Osunsami, Mara Schiavocampo Take Home Two NABJ Awards

NBC’s Mara Schiavocampo (left) and ABC’s Steve Osunsami each took home two awards Saturday night at the NABJ’s annual Salute to Excellence ceremony, the culmination of the NABJ’s convention in New Orleans.

Schiavocampo won the International category with her story “Haiti Rubble Survivor” and in the Short Form Feature category for “Hudson River Survivor.”

Osunsami won for Spot News for “Alabama Tornadoes” and Specialty report for “Hunger at Home” along with several of his ABC News colleagues. Other double winners included “CBS Evening News,” “CBS Sunday Morning,” and “60 Minutes.”

ABC’s Pierre Thomas picked up his Journalist of the Year award, after which he Tweeted, “No one deserves the night I just had. Thank you to NABJ and my colleagues at ABC News.”
