Fox and Friends co-host Steve Doocy got emotional this morning during an interview with the parents of Lt. Darryn Andrews.
Andrews was killed in Afghanistan in 2009 on a mission his fellow soldiers claimed was to rescue then-captured U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. Over the weekend, President Obama released five Taliban prisoners for Bergdahl.
“I’ve read a lot about your son, and he was a good man,” Doocy said at the conclusion of the interview. “Hard for me to talk about it,” he added while fighting tears.
Doocy’s son, Peter, is a Washington-based correspondent for Fox News.
