‘SitRoom’ Producer Moves to ‘SOTU’

A switch at CNN’s Washington bureau this week: CNN’s VP of Washington programming Sam Feist announced that Rick DiBella is moving from his Senior Producer position on “The Situation Room” to the Senior Broadcast Producer for “State of the Union with Candy Crowley.” He’ll also be Senior Producer for CNN’s election night decision team. We have Feist’s internal memo after the jump.

I’m pleased to announce that Rick DiBella will be joining the State of the Union Team as Senior Broadcast Producer. Rick’s storied career in political journalism has spanned the America’s talking Network, Fox News Sunday, Fox News Channel, and for the last three years — CNN’s Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer. Rick has produced interviews with every major political leader from the last 20 years. He was a key member of Fox News’s decision team for the 2000, 2002, 2004, and 2006 elections overseeing coverage of Congressional Races.

As everyone who knows Rick will attest, he is a passionate show producer who knows and loves American politics more than just about anyone. He also happens to be one of the best-connected show producers in Washington.

Congratulations to Rick as he heads down the hall to join Candy and the State of the Union team.
