Shep In Mississippi: “The Only Thing Left Here Is A Little Bit Of Floor…Everything Else Is In The Trees”

Many television journalists have flocked to New Orleans this week, so I’ve been glad to see a handful of reporters venturing off the Mardi Gras beat to cover the devastation in Mississippi. FNC’s Shep Smith, a Mississippi native, hosted Studio B and The Fox Report from Diamondhead on Wednesday.

An excerpt: “This was a house. A 32 foot wall of water came over and about the only thing left here is a little bit of floor of what looks like what have may have been a kitchen. Everything else is in the trees. The trees are still snapped in half. Nothing has been removed here. Nothing. Workers are living in trailers and trying to get things done but the problem is there just aren’t enough people to get it all done in a timely fashion. So people are living in trailers and looking for places to live…”
