Sinclair has hired former CBS News correspondent Sharyl Attkisson to host a national Sunday morning news program to air on Sinclair’s local television stations. The show, based in Washington, will be “a blend of investigative and political journalism, with a focus on accountability.”
“Americans are thirsty for reporting that holds powers-that-be accountable, whether they are politicians, corporations or other special interests,” said Attkisson in a statement. “I am excited about the opportunity to report on untouchable subjects in a way that can reach even more viewers than my stories touched in the past.”
Sinclair has been criticized for using its TV stations to deliver political messages, often targeting Democrats.
