Ryan Lochte Talks to Matt Lauer About That Night in Rio

Maybe he’ll get the story right on his third try?

Embattled U.S. swimmer Ryan Lochte will again be the subject of an exclusive interview–his third–with NBC, and his second with Matt Lauer.

It will be the first interview since Lochte apologized for lying about being robbed at gunpoint in Rio after a night out with three fellow Team USA swimmers–a tale Lochte first told in an exclusive interview with NBC’s Billy Bush, and then later denied having lied in a phone interview with Lauer.

Parts of the new interview, shot Saturday, will air on NBC Nightly News, with more airing Monday on Today.

The issue of Lochte’s lying in interview with NBC was debated by Bush–who said Lochte “embellished” his story–and Al Roker, who argued forcefully that Lochte lied.
