“Today we are announcing an addition to our leadership team,” Jim Walton wrote in a memo this afternoon. “Christa Robinson will oversee all communications to the marketplace on behalf of the CNN brand as Senior Vice President of Public Relations for CNN Worldwide, effective immediately.”

Robinson, who joined CNN in 1999, is currently the senior vice president of PR for CNN/U.S. She’ll continue to be based in New York.

Former SVP Laurie Goldberg left in February. Click continued to read the rest of the memo…

“As you know, Christa has a long history with CNN. Since joining our organization in 1999, she has established deep roots in the New York media community that we’ll leverage by basing her there, where the national press dialogue originates. We’ve charged her with providing strategy input on media and messaging to Jon, Ken, Susan, Tony, Rick and me, and with devising and executing communications across our news and information portfolio.

Christa has made important contributions to CNN’s success and will continue to bring to our organization what I expect of everyone at every level: leadership, ideas and results. Feel free to extend your congratulations to her on her new responsibilities.”
