“Good Morning America” co-host Robin Roberts will interview two of the girls who were kidnapped by Ariel Castro and survived a decade of imprisonment and torture in his Cleveland home.
The interview is scheduled to air as a one-hour special on April 24 at 10pmET with additional portions will airing on April 27 on “GMA,” “World News Tonight with David Muir,” “Nightline,” ABCNews.com and across ABC News’ digital platforms.
The survivors, Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus, escaped Castro’s home and have not conducted a broadcast interview since the ordeal ended in 2013. Berry and DeJesus are releasing a book, Hope: A Memoir of Survival in Cleveland, which is also scheduled to be released on April 27. The book contains descriptions of events within Castro’s house, diary entries and reporting on Castro’s life and law enforcement’s efforts to find the missing girls.
