Richard Roeper on Bernstein, Olbermann, Shuster, Sawyer

By Alissa Krinsky

The Chicago Sun-TimesRichard Roeper, also of At the Movies with Ebert & Roeper fame, has lots to say in his column today about the television news scene:

• At CNN, “Carl Bernstein has perfected the art of stringing together seven points in one continuous sentence, making it nearly impossible for the anchor to interrupt him and cut short his air time.”

• On MSNBC, “Keith Olbermann is in the zone.”

• On the subject of MSNBC’s David Shuster: Even though the MTV show title Pimp My Ride has entered the lexicon, “there’s never going to be a time (one hopes) when it’s OK to say a candidate is pimping out her daughter.”

• At ABC’s Good Morning America, “I’m sure the lighting, the makeup, the wardrobe, the stylist and maybe a few other things help, but the Diane Sawyer we see on TV in 2008 is hotter now at 62 than she was in the 1970s.”
