Anthony Scaramucci To Be Named White House Communications Director

By A.J. Katz

Financier Anthony Scaramucci is reportedly under consideration for a “high-level” communications role in the Trump administration.

Scaramucci is a former Fox Newser, and founder of Skybridge Capital, the hedge fund that bought the legendary Wall Street Week from PBS in 2015. Skybridge sold the show to Fox Business Network and Scaramucci co-anchored the program on FBN for much of last year. Longtime friend/former colleague Maria Bartiromo now anchors the program.

Scaramucci was also a member of the Trump transition team, and it was reported back in April that he was expected to join the Trump administration as liaison to the business community. But in early February, the New York Times reported that ethics issues delayed the role. Scaramucci was in the process of selling a majority stake in Skybridge to Chinese company HNA Group.

Scaramucci was back in the news recently as the subject of a now-retracted CNN report tying him to a Kremlin-connected investor. After CNN formally retracted and apologized to Scaramucci for the false report (Scaramucci publicly accepted the apology), the three journalists involved in the reporting went on to resign, something the president undoubtedly enjoyed.

Update: NYT’s Maggie Haberman reports an offer has been made:

ABC’s Jon Karl tried to ask about it:
