> President George W. Bush made a surprise appearance at the Tim Russert wake today — something picked up first by FNC’s The Live Desk and their new on-screen REMs. MSNBC reported the news a few minutes later.

> Paul Bedard of Washington Whispers has a suggestion for the next Meet the Press host — Luke Russert. “Nothing (Matt) Lauer tried to do could get son Luke to tear up. Just the opposite. He took every bad pass and ran for a touchdown,” he writes.
