MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show was the most-watched cable news show in the advertiser-friendly adults 25-54 demo, for the 4th consecutive week.
Last week Maddow averaged 623,800 viewers in the demo, ahead of No. 2 The O’Reilly Factor on Fox News which averaged 545,200. Jesse Watters filled in for O’Reilly on Friday which saw an average of 388,000 in the demo. Maddow was also the most-watched cable news show on Friday night in Total Viewers, and MSNBC won the prime time demo with an average of 450,000 viewers, to FNC’s 388,000, and CNN’s 322,000.
Maddow, who is featured in this week’s Adweek Political Power Players list, talked about the show’s ratings success. “One of the things that’s really rewarding for me about this surge in viewer interest is that we’re really doing the same work now that we’ve been doing all along,” Maddow told us. “There’s apparently just an increased appetite for it right now.”
