More Twitter attacks coming from the president of the United States this morning.
This time, his ire was directed at Morning Joe’s Mika Brzezinski, who he referred to as “psycho,” and then remarked that the MSNBC morning show’s ratings “have really crashed.”
Wow! Morning Joe & Psycho ratings have really crashed. Very small audience. People are tired of hearing Fake News delivered with an anger that is not to be believed. Sad, when the show was sane, they helped get me elected. Thanks! Was on all the time. Lost all of its juice!

To be fair, each of the three cable news morning shows were noticeably down year over year in Q2 2019. Morning Joe is still a distant No. 2 behind Fox & Friends.
Brzezinski responded, calmly, at around 8:35 a.m. ET:
President Trump apparently is watching Morning Joe again.
Donald, you really ought to find something else to do in the morning. It is just not healthy. Tweeting about the show this morning saying that there is anger on the show. My anger? No, I’m not angry. Don’t worry, Donald, I’m not angry. I’m sad and disgusted when pathetic politicians don’t stand up to your racism. your racism. They are too afraid to. That is sad and that is unbelievably pathetic to watch and it is really bad for our country.
So just make sure that you understand the emotion you’re seeing here. It is really sad and what I’m saying is what is happening with those who suck up to you to the point where they throw away everything that they have worked for all their lives including the trust that voters have in them, the trust that other members of the senate and congress have in them, that they cannot be a true friend and stand up for a friend when they are being called a racist by the President of the United States?
Let’s talk about [Rep.] Mark Meadows, and how he is too busy sucking up to you than being the friend that [Rep.] Elijah Cummings was to him when he was called a racist during a hearing about you, by the way, and Mark Meadows cried like a baby when he was called a racist and had these crocodile tears in front of the entire committee and Elijah stood with him and said, “you’re not a racist.” Mark meadows cannot return that favor to Elijah Cummings because he is too busy being afraid of you? That’s sad and that’s pathetic. so that is what you’real Donald, as you are tweeting away with your little thumbs. So again, unlike Mark meadows just for the record, we’re not afraid of you.
This is not the first time President Trump has gone after the couple. In 2017, he referred to Joe Scarborough as “psycho Joe,” and Brzezinski as “crazy Mika,” and claimed “she was bleeding badly from a face-lift” during a three-night visit to Mar-a-Lago.
President Trump reportedly offered to officiate Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough‘s wedding that same year, and many have accused the duo of giving an excessive amount of airtime to Trump while he was a candidate in 2015-16. Trump even seems to admit as much in the tweet above.
