Newsbusters reports “a full internal investigation is being launched” at CNN over a promo for Nancy Grace. The spot promoted Grace’s return and her Monday show which covered the “incredible” crime stories of this past fall. At issue: the promo included a picture of Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell. Newsbusters reports, “a senior CNN official contacted McConnell’s office to apologize for the incident.”
TVNewser has learned it was a error in the editing process. The intent was to use an image of Sen. Larry Craig, not Sen. McConnell. A Headline News spokesperson tells TVNewser the promo was pulled immediately when the mistake was noticed internally.
