Oct. Ratings: CNN Charts Tout Year-Over-Year Viewership Growth

> Update: 3:29pm: An e-mailer asks:”Why do you think CNN only ever reports *percentage,* vs., say, actual absolute numbers – you know – the kind advertisers pay for?” Obviously it’s because CNN is #2. But they are trying to demonstrate a trend of rising ratings…

In Oct. 2005, compared to Oct. 2004, “all key CNN programs gained viewers while Fox News declined in both P2+ and P25-54 (except LKL),” CNN says in a press release.

(These are pure program comparisons and include every day in Oct. last year, except for the days of the four campaign debates.)

But even with debate days included, “CNN closed the gap with Fox News in the P25-54 prime time demo BY HALF,” the network says.
