Obama Goes Green: CNN, MSNBC (But Not FNC) Cover Ireland Address

By Alex Weprin

President Obama is in Ireland–the first sitting President to visit the country in more than a decade. This afternoon Obama addressed the crowd in College Green about the relationship between the two countries… and himself.

CNN and MSNBC covered the speech live, while Fox News chose to focus on other subjects, including the aftermath of the tornado in Missouri and the San Francisco Giants fan that was beaten by a LA Dodgers fan, among other stories.

FNC did stream the speech online, as did CNN and MSNBC.

Obama’s great, great great grandfather is Irish, and emigrated to the U.S. from the Irish town of Moneygall, which Obama also visited.

“I am Barack Obama of the Moneygall Obamas,” the President joked during his speech. “I came home to find the apostrophe we lost”
