CBS This Morning co-host Charlie Rose won a bet–and made a bold fashion statement Tuesday morning, wearing a pair of Versace pants identical to ones worn by Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton on his trip to California for this week’s Super Bowl.
The pants were the product of an $800 bet with co-host Gayle King that Rose wouldn’t wear the pants on the air. (The money will now be donated to a charity, Duke Health)
So how did Rose land the pants in one day? “My friends at Versace came through,” Rose said.

Later in the morning, former CBS Evening News anchor and Face the Nation host Bob Schieffer joked about the pants, saying “and people used to talk about my purple socks.”
