November Ratings: Nightly News Wins

NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams won the November 2007 sweep in total viewers and in the A25-54 demo.

Nightly News averaged 9.211 million total viewers, beating ABC’s World News with Charles Gibson by 1% or 98,000 viewers. Nightly topped the third place CBS Evening News with Katie Couric by 37% or 2,475,000 viewers.

Nightly also beat World News and Evening News in the crucial A25-54 demo. The broadcast had a 2.3 rating; 5% more than ABC’s 2.2 rating, and 35% more than CBS’ 1.7 rating.

ABC also says the Gibson program was the “only evening newscast to grow its Total Viewing audience versus last year’s sweeps period, increasing 2%; NBC declined 4% and CBS dropped 13%” year-to-year.
