No, anonymous emailer, you’re not crazy. The beeping comes from the AP newsalerts which feed into the newsroom computer systems at the networks. In MSNBC’s case, many NBC News employees sit adjacent to the set and the anchors’ microphones pick up the ‘beeping.’
