An aside to today’s announcement that Shelley Ross is taking charge of CBS’ The Early Show; in Ed Klein‘s new book Katie: The Real Story, Klein claims Ross met with CBS CEO Les Moonves in the fall of 2005, on the day Sean McManus was named CBS News president. Klein writes “They were considering Shelley for the job of McManus’s second-in-command, and Shelley, whose days were numbered at GMA, was interested in the job.”
