While we’ve been telling you about all the cable news anchors who are dropping their vacation plans to return to report on the Bhutto assassination, all three network evening news anchors stayed off the air. On CBS Russ Mitchell is in for Katie Couric, on NBC Lester Holt is sitting in for Brian Williams and on ABC George Stephanopoulos is in for Charlie Gibson. Williams, however, did a phone interview this afternoon on MSNBC.
