‘Nightline’ wins week one of May sweeps

By Chris Ariens

“Nightline” continues as the #1 show in late-night winning the week, which was dominated early on by news of the killing of Osama Bin Laden. “Nightline” has been #1 in Total Viewers 11 straight weeks, while taking the top position in the A25-54 demo for the 10th time in the last 11 weeks.

Season to date, “Nightline” is first in late-night among Total Viewers, A25-54 and A18-49. This is the first time ever that “Nightline” has been in first place at this point in the season since at least the 1993-94 season, when “Letterman” began on CBS.

ABC’s ratings are based on a 25-minute broadcast, while CBS and NBC are based on approximately :50 minutes (prior to the final national commercial break of each program).
