With just a few weeks left to go before ABC’s “Nightline” moves to a later timeslot, the show is still beating NBC’s “The Tonight Show” and CBS’ “The Late Show.”
For the week of November 5, “Nightline” won in all three ratings measurements — Total Viewers, A25-54 viewers and A18-49 viewers. “Nightline” has ranked as the number one latenight program for all seven weeks this season, putting the show on pace to win its third season straight.
When the show shifts to the 12:35pm timeslot in January, the broadcast will expand from 25 to 30 minutes. Beginning in March, “Nightline” will also get an additional hour at 9pmET on Fridays.
For the week of November 5, all three shows’ averages are based on only four days. On Election Day, “The Tonight Show” and “The Late Show” did not air and “Nightline” was coded as a special. ABC’s ratings are based on a 25-minute broadcast, while CBS and NBC are based on approximately :50 minutes (prior to the final national commercial break of each program).
