For the 2008-2009 season, ABC News’ “Nightline” placed second in Total Viewers and the demo. It’s the first time the program has topped CBS in the demo since ’99-’00. Against the 2007-2008 season, “Nightline” reduced the Total Viewer gap with NBC by 39%.
In the ratings quarter (6/29/09-9/20/09), “Nightline” placed first in Total Viewers, which it hasn’t done (in 3rd qtr) in 14 years, and second in the demo. Here are the averages for both time periods:
