A strong performance from “Grey’s Anatomy” – in fact the most-watched season finale of the season – helped drive viewers to ABC’s “Nightline,” which came in first in late night among the nation’s metered markets.

“Grey’s” peaked with a 6.2 rating in its final hour, easily making it the night’s top show. 35 minutes after the finale (in most markets) “Nightline” went on to beat NBC’s “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and CBS’ “Late Show with David Letterman.” “Nightline” had a 3.7 Household rating, to Leno’s 3.6 and Letterman’s 3.2.

“Nightline” also topped the two comedy shows among younger viewers.
