Coverage of the rescue miners in Chile helped make ABC’s “Nightline” the #1 late night show on TV last week.
The news program drew 3.98M Total Viewers to “The Tonight Show”‘s 3.57M and “Late Show”‘s 3.38M. “Nightline” also came in first in both younger demos: A25-54 (1.68 million), and A18-49 (1.31 million). This is the second week in a row “Nightline” has been the number one program in Total Viewers, Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49 and the show also holds on to it’s first place rank in all three measurements — the last time this happened was during the 1995-96 season.
Last Tuesday’s show, as the miners were being rescued, drew 5 million viewers to “Nightline.”
ABC’s ratings are based on a 30-minute broadcast, while CBS and NBC are based on one hour.
