New MSNBC.com Managing Editor Jennifer Sizemore Also Named NBC Exec. Prod.

Jennifer Sizemore, the new managing editor of MSNBC.com, will also be an executive producer at NBC News, it was announced today. Effective immediately, “Sizemore will oversee MSNBC.com’s newsroom, drive editorial strategy and work closely with the entire NBC News organization to maximize the delivery of web content to news consumers.”

Charlie Tillinghast says the announcement formalizes Sizemore’s leadership. “This announcement, and new structure for this position, speaks directly to our commitment at NBC News to incorporate MSNBC.com into every aspect of our news gathering and reporting efforts,” Steve Capus said in the press release. “Jennifer brings a real institutional knowledge that will be invaluable as we continue to increase the division’s presence on the web.”

“This announcement makes Sizemore the only woman leading a major national online news editorial operation,” the press release noted. Sizemore joined MSNBC.com in July 2005 as deputy editor for news. She was previously the deputy managing editor for news at the Houston Chronicle and an assistant managing editor at the Seattle Post-Intelligencer and Rochester (N.Y.) Democrat and Chronicle…
