Campaign embeds from ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, and Fox News were aboard Republican vice-presidential candidate Mike Pence‘s campaign plane when it skidded off the runway at New York’s La Guardia Airport Thursday night.
“Upon landing, ran off the runway at LaGuardia airport,” reported CNN embed Elizabeth Landers. “Everyone is fine–no injuries.”
The cause of the accident remains unclear, and for the embeds onboard the aircraft, it was difficult even to see what was happening outside due to a cold rain. “Hard to see much from these plane windows, but emergency vehicles are here,” reported Fox News embed Dan Gallo.
Gov. Pence, campaign staff, and embeds including Alan He from CBS, Ines de La Cuetara of ABC News and Vaughn Hillyard of NBC News were all evacuated from the aircraft without incident, taking shots of the damage to the runway and sharing them via Twitter:
