Nets’ Special Reports on Bhutto Death

ABC, CBS and NBC all interrupted their morning shows at 8:30amET to produce special reports on the attack which killed former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. NBC’s report was simulcast on MSNBC and included a report from correspondent Jim Maceda in London and reporting from Ann Curry on the Today show set. Curry interviewed Bhutto in October just days after an assassination attempt on Bhutto’s life.

CBS ended their special report after three minutes, returning to the Early Show. They picked up coverage again at 8:40amET. NBC and ABC did a full 10 minutes, ending their special reports within seconds of each other at 8:41amET.
