NBC’s Anne Thompson Becomes Chief Environmental Affairs Correspondent

Anne Thompson is becoming the chief environmental affairs correspondent for NBC News, Steve Capus announced today.

It’s a new position. The press release says she will “report on such issues as alternative fuels, global warming, land usage and new technologies.”

“Anne’s laser focus on this issue, and NBC News’ commitment to covering it, is one more way that we distinguish ourselves in a crowded landscape of news and information,” Capus says.

Thompson has been chief financial correspondent since March 2005. CNBC correspondents have increasingly been filing financial stories for Nightly News.
