“Nancy Grace’s characterization of the Aruba incident could not be further from the truth,” an NBCer tells TVNewser, referring to this post earlier today. “Michelle Kosinski has descibed, in great, ACCURATE detail, how the events transpired in Aruba. We’ve done those reports both on broadcast and cable… We’ve issued a detailed statement about how these events transpired. We were journalists doing our job — working within the boundaries set up by the Aruban prison officials — and once we found ourselves in the middle of a legal issue, we abided by the Judge’s decision.”

“We were respectful — all of our actions were above board. Some of our competitors seem to be jealous that Michelle Kosinski and team did some hard work that paid off with a good story. Other journalists, to THEIR credit, have defended us for simply doing our jobs, rather than siding with Van Der Sloot’s defense attorney who clearly has an agenda to distort the facts of what transpired in Aruba this week.”
