NBC Wants Affiliates To Dance

Natalie does the tango, Tiki does the cha-cha, Ann does some hip-hop and Hoda does the two-step.

TVNewser was sent a notification that went out to NBC affiliates for a cross-promotion of a feature during next week’s fourth hour of the Today show. “[S]ome of our TODAY talent will be kicking up their heels and putting on their ‘boogie’ shoes for a week-long series we’re calling: SHALL WE DANCE TODAY?”

The NBC Newschannel service is sending clips to the affiliates. The notice says stations can “use this material in any of your weekend newscasts or during your early morning newscasts on Monday.

Attn. Stations :
Next week some of our TODAY talent will be kicking up their heels
and putting on their “boogie” shoes for a week-long series we’re
calling: SHALL WE DANCE TODAY ?

Each day, the women of the 4th hour, plus Tiki Barber, will show
off their dancing abilities, taking on such dances as: the Tango,
the Cha-Cha, Hip-Hop, and Country line dancing. At the end of the
week viewers will be able to log-on and vote for their favorite
dancer.

As of now, this series is scheduled to air during the 10am hour
of the broadcast.

Here’s how the series will be broken down:
Monday, September 24th: Natalie Morales takes on the Tango
Tuesday, September 25th: Tiki Barber dances the Cha-Cha
Wednesday, September 26th: Ann Curry tries out some Hip Hop moves.
Thursday, September 27th: Hoda Kotb does the two step.
Friday, September 28th: Vote for your favorite

Available material:
Each day we will send out :30-:45 seconds of the talent rehearsing
their dance moves. The first of this material, Natalie rehearsing
the Tango, will be available on VOD, Friday, September 21st by 1600.
You may wish to use this material in any of your weekend newscasts
or during your early morning newscasts on Monday.
