Before NBA commissioner Adam Silver took to the podium to announce a fine and lifetime ban for Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling Tuesday, NBC News Tweeted incorrect information about the fine, quoting a senior NBA official.
NBC reported Sterling would be fined $5 million. Instead, he was fined $2.5 million. Here’s the Tweet:
