NBC Partners With Ex-Politico Boss in News Startup

Backed with $10 million in freshly-secured financing, Politico co-founder Jim VandeHei will soon launch his next project—a subscription-based news site aimed at professionals—in partnership with NBC.

“Our talent will appear on NBC and MSNBC and we will collaborate on other projects,” VandeHei told The Wall Street Journal.

The new venture will focus on “tech, health care and business news, and will include some political and media coverage.” Seventeen people have been hired, with a total staff expected to reach around 60.
