This morning, NBC News became the first TV news organization to launch an official account on Kik, a chat network that has more than 200 million users.
Here’s how it works: when Kik users send a keyword such as “politics” or “technology,” to the NBCNEWS Kik account they will instantly receive stories and video from NBCNews.com. NBC News will also push messages to Kik users.
Meanwhile, CBS News announced this morning that CBSN, the 24/7 digital news channel, is now available on Android devices. CBSN launched in November on CBSNews.com as well as on apps for iOS and Windows, Apple TV, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV.
