Here Are the NBC Newsers Covering the 2024 Summer Olympics (Exclusive)

Like a 100-meter dash, NBC Spots is racing towards the 2024 Olympic Games, taking place in Paris from July 26 through August 11. And TVNewser can reveal the NBC News talent who will be joining the larger NBCUniversal broadcast team covering the action from France’s capital city.

The new Newser additions are Willie Geist, Sam Brock, Steve Kornacki, Gadi Schwartz and Anne Thompson. All five will provide coverage of the summer games across NBCUniversal’s Olympic channels, with Geist, Brock, Shcwartz and Thompson reporting on-site in Paris, while Kornacki will provide analysis from the U.S.

“We are excited to have an experienced group of reporters out in the city to capture the energy, excitement, and allure of Paris, as well as the important news that always surrounds the Games,” Rebecca Chatman, vice president and coordinating producer of NBC Olympics Production, said in a statement provided to TVNewser.

Thompson takes the gold medal for most Olympics covered; Paris will be the fifth consecutive Games for NBC News’ chief environmental affairs correspondent. Geist has bragging rights to the silver having previously been part of the NBC Sports team reporting in from the 2018 Winter Games in PyeongChang, the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi and the 2012 Summer Games in London. Meanwhile, the trio of Brock, Schwartz and Kornacki all share the bronze, as this will be the third Olympics for all three.

Additionally, NBC Sports announced that Kira K. Dixon from NBC Sports/GOLF Channel and Naoko Funayama of WCVB-TV in Boston will serve as Paris-based reporters. It’s the third Olympics for Funayama and the first for Dixon, who is also making her debut as a sportsdesk reporter.

The Opening Ceremony for the 2024 Olympics will air Friday, July 26, on NBC and Telemundo and also stream on Peacock. The event will be emceed by NBC Olympics primetime host Mike Tirico will be joined by former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning and talk show host and musical artist Kelly Clarkson.

The 2024 Olympic Games run from July 26-August 11 in Paris.
