How will the Dan Abrams/Phil Griffin team work together? “I’m going to be running this network on a day-to-day basis,” Abrams tells Scott Collins. The new MSNBC GM characterized Griffin’s role as a “guru” and “sounding board.”

> “The building-wide response to Abrams’ promotion has been surprisingly optimistic; seeing someone with vested interest in charge has kind of put a positive breath in our nervously awaiting gullets,” a tipster writes to TVNewser.

On the other hand, an NBC insider tells Collins that staffers were stunned by the announcement given his lack of experience. This is how the person described the mood: “Shocked, but not awed.”
