Chuck Todd’s 1 p.m. MSNBC show Meet the Press Daily is moving to the company’s streaming service NBC News Now on a permanent basis.

LA TimesSteve Battaglio was on the news Friday morning.

Executives have announced that MTP Daily is being renamed Meet the Press Now—and will stream live at 4 p.m. ET on the free ad-supported streaming platform starting in early June.

Todd, NBC’s political director, has moderated the flagship edition of Meet the Press Sundays on NBC since 2014—and has hosted a daily cable version of the show on MSNBC in various timeslots since 2015.

Todd’s MTP Daily will be replaced on MSNBC by an hour of news (MSNBC Reports) hosted by longtime MSNBC anchor/correspondent Chris Jansing.

Todd has been a mainstay on NBC News Now since the streaming service’s 2019 launch. He has appeared live on the streamer for pre- and post-event programming around big political-news nights— and has hosted Meet the Press Reports, a streaming spinoff of the legacy Sunday show, for four seasons.

Additionally, NBC News senior investigative and consumer correspondent Vicky Nguyen will also head to streaming, joining NBC News Now anchor and NBC News correspondent Morgan Radford as co-host of NBC News Now Live from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. NBC News Now anchor and NBC News correspondent Aaron Gilchrist, who currently co-anchors 11 a.m.-1 p.m. with Radford, will begin anchoring NBC News Now Live from 2 to 4 p.m.

The expansion of live news programming on NBC News Now lines up with what NBCU News Group’s svp of growth Anna Magliocco told us at Adweek’s Convergent TV Summit last week.
