MSNBC Clarifies Ad

By Chris Ariens

MSNBC has fixed a promotional spot, that declared it beat CNN in primetime for the month of July. The language on the add read “prime” which runs from 8pm to 11pm. What MSNBC won was “sales prime”, which runs from 7pm to 2am. MSNBC spokesman Jeremy Gaines tells TVNewser, the ad has been fixed and the new version is now running on the network.

According to Linda Moss of Multichannel News “CNN accused MSNBC of ‘recasting’ primetime, and trying to boost its ratings by rerunning NBC’s To Catch a Predator in late night.” Last week an MSNBC insider told TVNewser “a year ago we moved to the doc block late night, and the numbers speak for themselves.”

The original ad had been uploaded to YouTube, but it’s since been removed.
