Morning Show Ratings: Week of Sept. 22

morningshowanchors2014“Good Morning America” just had its best opening week performance in Total Viewers in more than 23 years. As the 2014-2015 TV season gets underway “GMA” continues to lead the way and was up compared to the same week last year: up +2% in viewers and up +5% in the A25-54 demo.

No. 3 “CBS This Morning” also saw year-over-year growth: up +5% in viewers and up +1% in the demo. NBC’s “Today” show struggled last week and was down double digits in the A25-54 demo (-14%) while also down in viewers (-7%.)

“GMA” had its biggest win over “Today” in both viewers and the A25-54 demo in more than 20 years – since the week of May 16, 1994.

The averages for the week of Sept. 22, 2014:

  • Total Viewers: ABC: 5.677M / NBC: 4.425M / CBS: 2.986M
  • A25-54 viewers: ABC: 2.168M / NBC: 1.731M / CBS: 987,000
