Morning Show Ratings: Week of January 3

By Chris Ariens

In the first week on the air, the new team of “The Early Show” held the ratings from the weeks leading up to the anchor change. But all three shows are down from their year-ago numbers.

“Today” is down more than a half million viewers from the first week of 2010 (a week in which “Today” had had its best numbers since Feb. ’09). ABC’s “Good Morning America” lost about 60,000 viewers and “Early” lost 260,000 Total Viewers compared to the week of Jan. 4, 2010. “Early” was the only program to increase in younger viewers from last year — up 20,000 viewers.

  • Total Viewers:  NBC: 5.50M / ABC: 4.54M / CBS: 2.82M
  • A25-54 viewers:  NBC: 2.60M / ABC: 1.74M / CBS: 1.22M
