Morning Show Ratings: Week of August 22

morning-show-anchors_640-846x836Today was the No. 1 morning show for a third consecutive week, not just in the news demo but also in total viewers. The program improved 1 percent in total viewers and a solid +10 percent in the news demo versus the same week 1 year ago. This is also Today’s first non-Olympic weekly win in total since March. That said, the program fell 1 percent in total viewers and fell 2 percent in the news demo compared to the post-2012 Olympics week.

Good Morning America fell 9 percent in total viewers, and dropped 16 percent in A25-54 from the same week in 2015. That said, the 4.246 million total viewer average represents the most-watched week in 7 weeks and GMA’s best A25-54 performance in 6 weeks.

CBS This Morning continues to post year-over-year gains in 2016. The program improved 5 percent in total viewers and improved 7 percent in the key news demo compared to the same week in 2015.  CTM also improved 43 percent in total viewers and +17 percent in A25-54 compared to the post-2012 Olympics week.

  • Total Viewers: NBC: 4.336 M / ABC: 4.246 M / CBS: 3.410 M
  • A25-54 viewers: NBC: 1.767 M / ABC: 1.375 M / CBS: 1.010 M
